The purpose of the school is to provide a Christian context in which children can experience and learn of God's love for them, for their classmates, and for the world in which they live. Believing that each child is special, our group and individual activities are designed to help each child develop skills according to his or her own rate of social and emotional growth. Positive feelings about self and others are encouraged by an experienced and caring staff.

Our School
Westminster Preschool was established in 1995 by the Fanwood Presbyterian Church as part of its ministry to the greater community it presently serves. The school is under the direction of Mrs. Nancy Bantz. Mrs. Bantz holds a B.A. degree in early childhood education. The preschool occupies rooms in the Education Building of the Fanwood Presbyterian Church, located at Martine and LaGrande Avenue in Fanwood. Bright classrooms and a large indoor gym provide an inviting environment for learning to take place.

westminister arcOur Program Westminster Preschool is for children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 4 years old. There is a 2 day program for our 3 minus classes, a 2 or 3 day program for our 3 year olds and a 3 or 4 day program for our 4 year olds. Our program is designed to make young children feel secure and self confident. We provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum within a Christian context. Children will develop socialization skills as they interact with other children. Kindergarten readiness skills are also emphasized especially in our 4 year old program. Physical education, arts and crafts, music, science, cooking, snack time, play time and story time are an integral part of the school day.                                                                  

Kinder-Cooking — an 8 week Fall enrichment program for recent graduates now attending afternoon kindergarten.

Kinder-Kapers — an enrichment program for our recent graduates now attending morning kindergarten. This program begins in January.

Hours of Operation

Westminster Preschool begins in September and runs thru the beginning of June. Morning sessions meet from 9-11:30am and afternoon sessions meet 12:00 - 2:30pm

playground For the upcoming 2008-2009 school year, tuition is as follows:
2 day program - $155/month, 3 day program - $200/month, 4 day program - $235/month.

Registration for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year: Registration for Church members and Alumni Siblings will be held on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 at 9:30am in Westminster Hall. Open Registration (for those new to the school) will be held on Sat. Feb.2, 2008 at 9:00am in Westminster Hall, but do arrive early!
